I got the keys to my apartment on Thursday, August 27th and started moving my shit to the new place the next day. I had asked my brother to help me move, he has a Chevy Tracker (It’s a small SUV). I work overnights (10:45am to 7:00am) and I didn’t want to go to work exhausted. I decided to start moving at around 9am, after I got a little rest from work. I had rested in my new place and walked over to my old place where my shit was.
I called my brother and told him not to eat anything for breakfast. I was going to treat him to pho (I love that shit!) for helping me out. We were both starving and drove to my pho spot, Pho Nguyen. Bad news, it wasn’t open yet! They opened at 10am and I decided to start moving to kill some time. The pho was real good after that first trip. Yummy!
We kept going back and forth from my new and old place about 9 times. We stopped at around 5pm and we were exhausted! The weird thing was that the toughest part of it was just walking up 3 stories to my old place without anything in our arms. We moved all the boxes and most of my belongings that day. I counted 52 boxes total, with 33 being medium to large boxes. I got them from work, I had been collecting them for the past 3 weeks. I would walk home with them after work (No car life is the shits). My friend, John, helped me moved my mattresses before I had to go to work. My brother’s SUV was to small to handle it, not John’s though.
On Saturday, we finished up in about 2 or 3 trips. I treated my brother to pho from another place called Vung Tau. My brother suggested we go to a coffee place called The Meadowlark to play some chess. He kicked my ass pretty bad, and there will be a rematch.
Here are the pictures of the things I moved by Saturday afternoon.
